Today, the competing forces vying for land are not land developers pitted against one another in search of the next farm to entitle or production homebuilders seeking to ‘place’ the next gated community. Rather, it is the unstoppable juggernaut of renewable energy development that has taken the front seat and is currently driving land use to the tune of hundreds of thousands of acres per year. As of this writing, no confirmed quantity of land has emerged regarding how many acres are being turned over for ‘energy farms.’
