Alan Scales brings over a decade of experience in residential multifamily and mixed-use architecture to his management role as Studio Director. Scales is responsible for overall project direction from planning and design, team coordination and client communications. From project to project he carries tremendous knowledge in site planning, entitlements, project coordination, design development, building department approvals, and construction administration. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and is a licensed architect in California. Average new home sizes have become smaller in recent years, influenced by both the economic down turn and by the increased number of Gen X and Y renters. The cause?  Many of these prospective buyers and renters have limited income and are settling for smaller places to live.
